South Florida Native!! Love Butterflies and birds? This plant is for you!! Firebush is a perennial or semi-woody shrub that is known scientifically as Hamelia patens. Gardeners love firebush because it produces flowers from late spring until the first frost, and the bright red flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies, including the zebra longwing and gulf fritillary butterflies. Song birds also like to feed on the berries.

1. Always try to keep rootball of plant intact when planting. This is the heart of the plant

2. Do not fertilize plant right away. Let the plant root in naturally for 2 weeks to a month. 

3. Water is very important!! Just like us humans plants need water to survive. Water twice a day for two weeks.
