Mimosa strigillosa, also known as sunshine mimosa or powderpuff, is a low-growing, perennial legume native to Florida! It's known for its showy pink flowers, sensitive leaves that close when touched, and its ability to spread rapidly via rhizomes. It is a great choice for ground cover, erosion control, and pollinator habitat. Because this plant is native, it is naturally very tolerant of Floridas climate making it lower maintenance!
